Upcoming Class lunch, Kelly Wilson's career, and a complex engineering project.
Fall Class Lunch
Hi guys, the class lunch is coming up Wednesday October 18. Aberfoyle Mill at noon. Please let us know if you and your better half will attend so we can confirm the body count with the restaurant. No doubt a number of you snowbirds will be heading south shortly so we would like to make sure that you get the proper send-off!
We want to extend a special thanks to Kelly Wilson for posting his career highlights. Who knew that beer suds could offer such excitement. You can look forward to another posting in the next newsletter.
Aldo Donnarumma sends along this video of a novel solution to a complex engineering situation -
A Complex Engineering Project
To do this project in the USA or Canada, we would need a 38-page works contract, geo-technical drawings, engineering report, scope of works, risk assessment study, project management team, 3 HR consultants, 4 safety officers, 3 site engineers, 2 foremen, 3 leading hands,10 laborers, an oversize pile driver, huge crane, 2 trucks, 6 traffic controllers, a site office, 3 politicians making speeches about the project, a “Living Wage” agreement and, of course, consultation with indigenous and minority leaders.
Looking forward to seeing you there,
Tom & Vic
