Chem Eng ’70, “BIG 5-0” Reunion
Program Outline
Friday June 5
Guests arrive and check-in at the Courtyard Inn, mid-afternoon arrival time suggested
4-6:30pm - Meet and Greet reception in Salon A/B at the hotel
6:30pm - Leave for dinner at Concordia Club.
7pm - Reservations for dinner at the Concordia Club, 429 Ottawa St South Kitchener.
We suggest rather than anyone driving, people get together and take a Cab or Uber to dinner.
9:30pm - Meet and Greet reception in Salon A/B at the hotel
Saturday June 6
Open arrangements for breakfast at hotel or other restaurant of peoples’ choosing.
Guys attend U of W activities
Spouses’ Program: As you may know, St. Jacobs is a great tourist destination. Spouses may wish to congregate in Salon A/B (local tourist information will be available) to plan their activities.
For example:
· Stroll through St. Jacobs farmers market
· Check out local outlet stores
· Visit specialty shops in downtown St. Jacobs
· Lounge by the indoor pool
4-6:30pm Reception in Salon A/B at the hotel
7pm DINNER OPTIONS
We would appreciate your feedback on the options listed below before we attempt to book anything. The restaurants can accommodate up to 35 people in a private room.

Check out of hotel (NOON CHECKOUT) and depart for home

Our group rate is $129 CAD per night.

Book Early in order to ensure that you are able to select a room that best meets your needs. Please note that as we near the date, if rooms aren’t booked, the hotel will start to release the rooms to other guests.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid a penalty charge of one night’s room and tax.

9.45am Arrival at Building E7 – Reunion Headquarters & Open House. Check-in
10:00 – 10.45 am Dean’s Reunion Lecture in Building E7 – 2nd Floor
10.45 am Meet Prachi – Building E7 2nd floor, outside Dean’s lecture.
10.45 – 11.00 am Walk-over to Building E6 – Chemical engineering building
11.00 – 11.50 am Meet and Greet with the Chair of Chemical Engineering Dept. and Sean Ashley, first scholarship recipient of the
1970 Chem Eng Scholarship
11.50 am – 12.00 Drive to Fed Hall. Possible UW transportation (TBC)
12.00 – 2.00 pm Lunch hosted by University of Waterloo. Cost - $25 per person.
1.50 pm Drive back to Building E7 and meet Prachi in E7 – first floor.
2.00 pm Student Ambassador to provide a tour of E5, E7 and DWE (old Chem Eng building)
3:00 - 4:00 pm Iron Ring replacement service available through the Iron Ring Wardens
6:00 -7:00 pm 25 and 50 - Year Reunion Iron Ring Ceremony: Obligation Renewal – Building E5 - 2004
7:00 – 10:00 pm Marche- style dinner party (buffet) – Cost = $50 per person. Building E7 – 1st and 2nd floor
